need a taylor dunn throttle. any input appreciated

ive made an electric go kart out of a taylor dunn sc-50 (i think) its a 36v setup and it works great and is a ton of fun, an still capibal of pulling a good bit of weight :)

however i have damaged the throttle assembaly and i can only seem to locate a new replacement on ebay for $200 im just trying to find any way of replacing the part for cheaper or purchasing a used part. or any input at all really. its taylor dunn part number 62-033-00 and can also bee seen on this ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... the throttle works intermittently and its failing to return to to "closed" posistion and has to much play in it. i know that the throttle has two switches inside it and some kind of "potentiometer" to varry voltage from 6-11.5volts for the standard taylor dunn throttle and controller. but im searching for any way to avoid buying a $200 part as that is about the amount of money i have invested in the go kart itself.

well its not that it dosnt make contact or anything its that the shaft the lever is on that moves the throttle inside the box is spinning almost freely and its not supposed to, so the unit is physically damaged.

so i either need some kind of knowledge of a taylor dunn throttle as taylor dunn just tells you to replace it with a new one or im wondering if there is a used part source that might stock taylor dunn parts. or an aftermarket part...

i see all the programmable controllers support the taylor dunn throttle input but i dont know if there is any thing that uses a similar throttle i could find one off of or an aftermarket substitute, or if i really am looking at a $200 part that i hope i dont break again.

Did you notice that DeoxitD5 is also a lube? You might just have something hanging up in there causing that 'spinning almost freely' symptom.

I still say It might fix it if you can get some of this product inside to the trouble spot. This stuff is like magic in a can, I kid you not...

all throttles are created practically the same way. I'm not sure if your throttle is the same, but it sounds the same. (link directed to some broken ebay page)

MOST throttles use a 0-5k pot, (2 watt). you could google it and buy one from what you find. there's even hand grip throttles, which are pretty awesome.

taylor dunn throttles are very accurate for commercial applications they vary voltage from 6.5-11 volts. ive managed to fix mine so it works most of the time. but its not very accurate anymore, and sometime requires several depresses to do anything.

im still looking for one new ones are about $200+
