SO I took a ride to the junkyard. I pulled a master cylinder and hose from a Suzuki motorcycle, caliper and rotor from a Honda.
The caliper is a dual piston. This and the master cylinder were the only ones that were still working, the rest were seized, rusted or the fluid level window was broken.
The rotor I'm mounting to the old brake drum, I'm going to set up a emergency brake with the drum.
The rotor is 1/2" bigger in diameter than my 60t sprocket. This should make me stop in less than 2 inches. I hope. The seals all seem good, I flushed the system and the piston extended and no leaks.

I'll get more pics up once I get my axle in the mail.

Added hyd brakes on my kart from Kawasaki 636R that I purchased on e-bay for $17, like brand new.

Got it all mounted up, grabs it nice and tight, gotta align the jack shaft though, it runs fine, but I know it will cause a headache down the road.

Oh, by the way, it's a 2 piston caliper.

That'll be the next thing I have to do. Yours is looking good! What kind of kart do you have?

It's maybe 2", there's a 4 bolt hole pattern, looks like a 2 3/16 hole patter, or a metric equivalent.

Upgraded the brakes on my home built, mechanical brakes weren't cutting it on these 22" tires.
Master cylinder and opposed piston caliper off a Suzuki gs500

Making a hub for the brake rotor was a big challenge, I had to custom make everything, it's a small 5 lug pattern, I used 1" pipe for the sleeves and cut and welded a key into that. I build a hub out of big washers and drilled holes and welded in bolts.

Welds are getting better, shame I broke a spindle today. Gotta rebuild the front spindles using thicker wall tubing.

Well, I'm done. Sorta. The brakes need to be bled a little more, I have to pump them to stop, but it locks up those massive 22" tires. I'm still contemplating front suspension also, it's a rough ride.
I also need new tires for my other kart. I've got 4x4 hubs, can't find any tires light enough, I was going to use car spare tires, but they're heavier than my 22" tires on the other kart. I don't have the money for brand spanking new tires.
