Mmm, getting sued by IBM might hurt my parts budget a teeny bit...

Hehe, they just had an old paint color called Raven Black...but since IBM doesn't even sell that much hardware nowadays, they don't use the name nor are they going to go after a 12y/o that wanted to name their kart something cool.(I'm still pretty sure thats 100% sarcastic but I'm adding this as a safety net)

This is a raven black Selectric typewriter...looks pretty sick in my opinion

Meh, I think my kart is a little more powerful than a bird...
I do like that color, but mine has even less shine.
Then again, I haven't even seen it today with the new paintjob. I hope the paint lasts!
I'll try to post pics today.

I understand its your first kart but swap the engine or leave that one and sell the kart for around 200$ it should sell fast and my kart may end up in texas because the new owner lives in texas. But sell some stuff and buy a live axel kart its much more worth it

I've got a bit of a sentimental attachment to it now, so most likely I will eventually create two alternate bolt in rear ends, one a live axle and one a fixed axle. Also I like the current frame and engine for how simple they are.

I still need name suggestions everyone! If I don't get many ideas I'll open a separate thread for that.

I think Carsandcameras already made a Franken Stratton minibike with two 8 HP Briggs and I'm hoping for something original. Y'all got two more shots at a name before I make a new thread!

Also, my kart has the Stratton but not the 'franken'. :D

Ok that's three more tries. I don't want to clog up this thread, so watch for a new thread from me in Go Kart Discussion. Y'all can go crazy there.

Does anyone have 13x5x6 wheels and tires? My drive wheel is bent, so I need a new one.
And I would hate having mismatched rear wheels. Anyone got any that I could possibly buy?
Or anything? Any ideas?
It's not really driveable 'till I get that fixed, since the drive sprocket is also bent. Thus, I don't wanna throw the chain.

Also, the e-clip I have holding the clutch on rubs the tire, so I need to use a bolt to hold it on instead. Who knows how to do this?

Yeah, I'm wondering how it got so bent as well, but I can't change what's already happened.

I don't mean to be rude, but please don't clog up my thread.

With stuff that's really unrelated to my kart.
No offense.

Update:
I think the sprocket is actually OK, I think the torque on the bolts was distorting it slightly.
After I got the sprocket off, I cleared all the garbage out of the rim.
Then I found out the previous owner had rednecked the hub assembly.
There's probably a dozen stacked washers to space the sprocket.
Without it, the tire sidewalls make it impossible to mount a chain, since the hub needs to be longer. The mounting bolts are mismatched with how much space there is between the head and the threads, so I am hoping to get to the hardware store soon to get new bolts and maybe nuts. At this point, I'll probably just restack the washers to get the proper chain alignment.

Wow, you're 12...not many kids around like you. I don't remember when the last time I saw a kid wrenching away. Keep up the good work

Around 20 years ago, when I was 12. You are right though, a briggs doesn't have a controller to a t.v., good job kid, make us old farts proud!
