My Spring 2020 Build

As a child I wanted a motorcycle engine driven 3 pedal goKart.
I feel like I am running out of time to build this bucketlist item so here goes.

I will either be starting with a shaller conssesion cart or one of these I just drug home. I like the little blue one, you know the old saying light car big engine. But the red one has promise too.

Can anyone ID the blue one?

As for engines, I want a dirtbike/atv engine with a manual clutch, something around 200cc, the end goal is to roast the tires and do donuts. Wheelies would be a plus.

Red one is for sure the large frame dingo, blue one looks to me like a manco 405, both of which would be worthwhile to fix up, the shaller we've already discussed.

Spring 2020

I will let this start my build thread.
After a good long look and crunching some numbers I think the atv engine is out, I just don't think I can find the right one and in a price I can swing, so the next best thing are these.

I set out to build up the little blue one, they both have live axles and there straight! But it is to small for my plans, so the red dingo is the best choice. It is going to be a lot to cram in there but I am willing to to try

So the Plan is to run twin 212's with CVT's to a shared secondary shaft running 1 sprocket to the axle sprocket. the current axle gear is a 54, I have not figured the correct ratio yet, since I have never had this much torque to play with. I have no idea what to expect. its going to be close for sure. I also want to run a staggered set of rain or slick racing tires. Lose the front part of the cage keep the disc brake and make a seat, the steering wheel will need an update as well.
Tear down began, frame looks good, a little rust but nothing bad.

Do you mean you want to be in the Build Off? It's too late for 2019, and the 2020 Build Off won't start until about March 2020, and you'd need the sign with the password.

The fun has begun, TEAR DOWN!
Had to cut a lot of ugly off both of these.

Question, I found a honda 200m engine it has 520 chain and sprockets, which would be easier and cheaper to change, the engine sprocket to 420 or the axle sprocket to 520?

Side note, the yellow spacers on the rear axle are 1 inch pvc pipe

You cut off the front!!!!! My fav part lol. It saved my feet when my friend ran into me going 25 around my yard.

Yes and no, someone broke it off, rewelded it crooked and ugly, I will be putting it back.

Axle sprocket to #520 chain. I did some searching and I couldn't find a front sprocket for #420 or even #428. If it was a Lifan 200cc, no problem. https://www.denniskirk.com/parts-unlimited/10-tooth-sprocket-k22-2503n.p880610.prd/880610.sku if you input the year the engine is from you might be able to find a 420 sprocket.

update

just more metal work , cleaning and stripping the brushed on blue house paint.
Looks like it was yellow originally, also it has plastic front rims, I don't think there factory.

Suposed to be case two piece aluminum wheels. They're expencive now.

Finally in primer, the engine is still not here (jan 1) so I am sure I will have more fab work to do, I may wait to paint til after that.
