Well guys thanks , and to those believers of the Fiord products everyone has the option of driving what they like , I`ve had quite a few Fiords myself but find they are much more exspensive to buy parts for when required , I don`t like to leave anything stock , and being a father of 3 and paying suport I need to buy things on the cheap to survive , Chevys are way cheaper for parts , and I`ve driven them all my life ( most ) , I`ve got alot of hours into this truck now and will just keep moding it till I`m happy , lol , only one other truck I really like and thats a 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 , but I`ll never buy one soon , lol , one of the fastest rides I ever built was a 1964 Ford Scooby Doo Van , I built up a 69 - 351 W out of a Cougar and mounted the engine in the middle of the van , driveshaft was a little over 12"`s long , posi 9" rear diff , first time out with it I nailed the throttle and the front tires came up off the ground and took off like a rocket right towards a hydro pole on the side , Scared the beJesus outta me , I learned how to controll it later , all my friends nicknamed it the Pole Hunter ,, lol , after I move I`ll scan a photo of it and post one up , my pics are packed away right now , :cheers2: anyways as I said I just happen too like my Dime and thats all that matters to me ,, heres a pic of my engine in my dime ,, Bill

If you plan on a V-8 swap, check out v8s10.org, there's a vastr amount of info there, and you won't find a better group of folks to help out with it, ;)

S10's with V8's are a lot of fun. Been there done that. Make sure you box up the stock a-arms a bit for additional strength when cornering and increase the springs. You don't want it to sag too much as you'll bottom out on the rubber snubbers more often and possibly bend something.

S10's with stage II Grand National turbocharged V6's are even more fun. Been there done that too. (I shoved one of these engines into a Ranger and that was fun also, especially when I opened the hood and people scratched their heads).

To me all this stuff is raw material. Parts. Put anything in anything if it makes you happy. That's what it's about, isn't it? Being happy?

Though I'm a guy who shoved a 460 BBF into an Explorer, because I can. That makes *me* happy.

Okay, back to the lathe.

TTYS Bill, good luck with the move,
Frederic, that same logic caused me to put a 600hp 427 in a Chevy Vega, now THAT made me very happy, every time I drove it, :D:D

A turbocharged 3.8 and an S-10 would make a great combo, but why do you say that it was more fun? Because it was an easier install and they pack a great punch for their size? How do turbo 3.8 buicks compare to the turbo 4.3 chevys that came in GMC syclones/typhoons?

I've also wanted to put a late model 8.1L (496 CI) Big block chevy into a 90s S-10, but I'm pretty sure that it wont fit without making heavy modifications to the firewall and it would stick out of the hood. If a person had cash, it would be pretty bad *** to add twin turbos to the 8.1L and make it AWD like the syclones/typhoons. Nevermind, that sounds like a good way to die.

While on the subject of big engine/small car, I've also wanted to build a V-8 Chevette or Vega for as long as I've known what those cars were. The trouble is that I've only seen a handful of vegas in my entire life, and chevettes have started to disappear rather quickly in the last 5-10 years.

The newer 3800's pretty much have bullet proof bottom ends. I'm putting a supercharged 3800 from a Riviera in an 88 Fiero. I'd love to put one in something else that is rwd, but the Fieros hook up pretty good since all the weight is in the back

a s/c 3800 in a fiero would be bad ***. A Northstar v8 would be pretty cool, too but I'm sure its been done. I have seen a Fiero with an LS1. Wow! I bet that car was a handful to drive.
