It gets frustrating after a while when you constantly have tools etc laying in a work area because there's nowhere for them to go (as is the case with my lathe bench) so, first off, I went & saw my buddy Pete who "acquired" a heap of shelving with small parts drawers to see if he had any spare drawers he was willing to part with. It was well worth the trip; I ended up with 2 small drawers, 2 medium & one large drawer. Now I have to make a framework to hold them...
I discovered some 5/16" ply I had hidden in my garage so, I worked out some measurements & started cutting. Once I'd cut the sides & the shelves, I set up my simple, home made router bench & routed 3 channels in each side piece to hold the shelves. then I cut & routed the top & bottom, drilled some holes & screwed it all together.
The drawers fit perfect (with a little room to move). Now I have to pull it all apart, sand everything, give it a coat of lacquer before gluing & screwing it all back together for another coat of lacquer...
