I enjoyed your show story, I took my turbo truck to the lifted truck nationals a couple of weeks ago. The "show car" guys treated me like I had aids, but the audience loved my $2500 beater. Neener neener suckers. There is a lot of satisfaction in stealing the show from the credit card crowd :)

I forget if I had already mentioned....funny times...

There was this show a few years ago mainly cars, I got there early as usual.... This guy shows up eventually in this really tricked out custom Big bear chopper motorcycle....Oh... the guy was trying to sell it, obviously its not now his thing....At the time $35K.....

So after doing my thing for a few hours... Buddy(a shorter bald stocky biker looking dude) comes up to me with kinda an odd look and off approach........" Hey man.... mind moving your bike a few stalls over, I'm trying to sell my bike, kinda cramping my style....."

...........Really.......(insert a stunned confused dog look.. complete with tilted head and eye blinking)

As Im about to give a reply and diagnose what has been said...... the crowd I had just been talking to(about10-15 people), backed up a ways, and watched as I had a bit of a stand off with this guy....
Well, it was all show like usual..... Buddy cracks a smile....reaches out his hand in a friendly handshake manner and a slap on the back...... Cracked off with a chuckle and says" heehee buddy its all good brother... just giving you a hard time....... you ride is F-ing awwesome.... "

Well then....... Finish the convo off with a smile, "thats right" smart *** retort, and return to a stunned crowd....carried on.....
An elderly fellow and his wife commented on how well I handled this situation........
"Like a boss"......... and the fist bump too....... really funny.....

A rat rodders life..... it hard, dirty, dusty and well...... typically as things go..... People dont like the eccentricity of life in any manner.......It happens...

Buddy didnt sell his ride... nor talk to many people...... He'll be happy to know that his bike will make a good back drop as the plethora of photos taken of my bike will display his in some manner or another...... Like with that buss load of Asian tourists......

Hahaha, that's great. They made me move my truck three times before I got the hood open. The payment princesses didn't like my beater next to their $1800 apiece wheels. Like you, I got a lot of bro fists and high fives. It's nice to know some people still get it. That's where it all started. Build what you can with what you have available, just goes to show that you can't buy cool, that comes from the inside out.

Hello all.. been a while since I posted in this thread....A bit of an update...
I guess Im on the ROTADERP/ OTAR bandwagon now......

Its been said that the Rato 212 are the Canadian equivalent of the Pred 212 non-hemi engine.
They have exact stats and bore x stroke, ect......
Well just crusin threads again... comming accross the OTAR motors and how cheap they can be... HERE????

Sure enough At the nearest Canadian tire store, on clearance for $99...... who could complain. So I call up my buddy and say whats happining, and we go overyonder to collect it... LAST ONE.......(I think for that price in the whole district, It was priced to clear......)

So... good times.... I think with this motor Im going to try to see what things I can do with it, get new performance parts and build a bit of a racing motor..... so to speak. I might even put this on the Jimmy Rig in stead of the princess 208 motor I bought earlier....

Did you do any math when you set the neck angle? rake and trail and such? This is the only build here that i have found so far where someone built a frame rather than use a manufactured frame.

Hello and thanks for the bump...
I didn't measure the angle... I just cut what ever looked good with the wheel on... I had the whole thing jacked up on the welding bench... Sat on it precariously, judged by eye...
If I get a chance later... I'll find the angle jig and measure it...

Glad to see this come back to life. I was worried there after finding it in my search for chopper mods!! And from what I've read, HEMI is problematic. I can do without one myself. Nice engine you got there too!!!

Oh they're still alive....
Was out at a big show earlier this month.. No pics sadly... It was really raining hard that day...
I defiantly need a good carb clean , oil change... I also want to do a bearing change aswell, but that's a complete disassembly... If I'm going that rout I'm going to clear the the frame... Lock in the rust I got...

Honestly all these clones have there problems(hemi or non.)... However these are much simpler than the others out there and a fare amount of hop up stuff cheaply sought...

I would buy a Hemi but they say there is a problem with idling, etc. ? BTW, got me a new one ( non Hemi ) coming for my chopper!!!! I would buy a Hemi if the complaints were just myths.......OH WAIT, it turned out to be a HEMI!!!!!!:mad2:

Sooooooo, where are you at at this point in time? I'm ready to order a chunk of Aluminum block/plate at 1 1/2" THICK BY 5" wide x 8" long and have 4 holes drilled into it by the frame mounting hole measurements. Then it will sit in between the frame and the engine and will slide with the engine for chain adjustment. I will use 1 1/2" longer bolts. Darn torque-a-verters anyway :D

Ahh I see... Pardon me...

The Jimmy Rig... is fine for the most part... I'm still debating wether I'm going to take off the engine it has(a princess auto 208cc) and put either the big Briggs #14 6hp I have(it has a 1"shaft though), or I might do some modding to the derp, and put that in it make it an actuall mini dragster kinda deal... Overall I'm not sure...
As for my square chop.... I might just replace the current (a stock champion 6.5) with the modded derp engine instead.... But still not really sure...

Hehehe..... I can see the confusion... It happens...

It started awhile ago, some people called the predator engines, a Rotaderp...
A play on words of it being spelled backwards....
Probably making fun of it being a Chinese engine, and typically their "different ways of doing things...in comparison to most of the world...

In some cases it kinda rolls off the tongue easier to say Derp....
