Great work but, not to criticise, IMO it seems a bit invasive & overkill. Is it possible to rig up somthing like this (see pic)? Also, does the main rod need to be that big? can you use 3/8" or 5/16" rod?

Yes that was possible, But the motor where is it made it difficult to shift. That was my initial idea.

really not that much heavier than it would of been with the set up that you showed me!

cleaned it up a little today, still have to clean it up some more but it will stay like this for now!

Go the gas tank on its a little small but it will get the job done for now!

only thing i need now is
1" rear sprocket carrier and 520 sprocket
to fit that carrier.
preferably a 25-27 teeth sprocket

throttle cable hook up for stephen115




put a little jb weld to hold this part into place, it is not the cable that went to the actual motor



also this is how i did my shifter, the welds still needs to be cleaned up but the concept is final!

i got it off of craigslist for 120 was 150 but i drove over an hour to get it and the guy knocked off 30 when i asked him to, just keep checking craigslist if your looking for one

You're kidding me, right? No way ill find an engine like that for $150, more like $800. How did you get such a good deal??? Hows the compression and overall condition?

compression is good, brand new piston on the inside, also i got the kart for only 250 so I'm only really into this thing about 400 max so far!
