Hi everyone, i am kind of new at building go karts and such here is my problem.

I bought a chassis and it came with wheels, axle and everything, just not the engine and the throttle cable. I have hooked up my engine, it has the centrifugal clutch on it secured and the engine is mounted on the frame. the chain fits and everything.

When i start my engine, the go kart does not go! .... is the axle suposed to be moving along with the sprocket? do i need to hook up the throttle cable to the engine and then see if it works?

PLEASE help...:mad2:

you dont want you go kart to move at idle, if you hook up your throttle cable and press in the pedal, it will mot likley move, it has to open the throttle on the carb to get enough power to move the cart. if you dont have time, rev it just a little by hand, if it starts to take off you you just need the cable, if not your having another problem

Put the back end on blocks (jackstands are better) and rev the engine up a little. Do the tires spin?

i move the throttle on and off and it does not move... any ideas on what else would be keeping it from moving?

you might have a high engaging clutch, put the end on some kind of stand and rev the engine, if the tires do spin everythings great, you just need to hook up your throttle, like InOhmaha suggested

the axle sprocket is able to move but it does not while the engine has started. the clutch is new..... and when i put the frame on the stands and started it, the wheels were moving a little but after about 10 seconds the did not move at all... even when i was reving the throttle.

You gotta have a key between the sprocket and the axle
