My First project Mini Chopper

Well About a month or so ago I was in my shop and I was cleaning out some junk and I had some Schd-40 pipe and a some what souped up 5 H.P. B&S Engine I was going to scrap the pipe when I thought of building a Mini Chopper. A Friend was helping me that day and we both made a gentleman's bet about building a Mini Chopper, The rules were simple We could only use what we had and that we had a $75.00 max on what we could spend for things like bearings brakes etc.etc.. So after a little wheeling and dealing this is what I came up with, All I need now is too hook up the throttle and the disc brake. Opinions Welcome, I just need to find a gas tank........

I guess you have acces to a mill/lathe?

Yes

Yes I have a South Bend 10"lathe and a Bridgeport with digital readout

I never ran any of the CNC Has Machines, But a 12 tool machine is very cool to have for making parts! :arf:

How long did it take to build?

Well it has took me about five days to get it mocked up, and then five more for tear down for paint, then back together about a day,
I only work on it a few hours a day 2-3 hours at the most, I wish I could play with it more but I need to WORK! , Most of the stuff I had laying around so I did not have to spend a lot of time waiting for parts.

That is turning out really nice! Please keep us informed on the build with pictures and info. You can probably pick up one of the tanks from those motorized bicycle websites - it fits over the frame, and looks just like a regular motorcycle gas tank. Oh, and I'd do mini-apehangers, but that's just what I'd do ....

The cheaper option would be do grab a directory, and locate the local motorcycle wreckers.

A sportster tank would look nice on that or maybe you could just mock up a coffin or diamond shaped one out of some thin sheet metal. Once again...really nice!
