I finally finished my kart. It's completely made out of garbage except for the clutch, chain, and wheels. I just put a speedometer on it and I hit a little over 30mph today. I need to get some taller gearing. the 12/60 is way to low for 10 inch wheels

That seat would be awesome if it was covered and cushioned, it would be uber comfy and would look good too.

ya i'm actually planning on putting some padding on the seat to make it a little more comfortable cuz the vibration is horrible

i welded a big washer to one of the rim halves and then welded a piece of pipe on for a hub. Then i drilled a hole through the pipe and the axle and put a bolt through. I wouldn't really reccomend it though. it was a pain. it would've been easier to just make a separate hub

I would upgrade wheels soon,
We used those on a minibike, they usually very bent, we broke 3 or 4 of them.
They all snap off around the bearing eventually.

Someone to second my motion?

nope cant do it.. the seat looks way to comfortable to be getto.. i would be more likely to second if he had used a cut up milk crate :roflol:

I will say very nice job. Using crap you have lying around is an art and a challenge in itself. Being able to pull it all together into something that works is awsome  Like this:

anyone elses gears turning in there heads after reading that. so what if its only gone 7 feet off the ground.. most of out karts are only 1" from the ground :cheers2:
