My Clutch is Smokin...

ok after running my cart for awhile my cluch would be smoking....:mad2: .....i dont know why but my go-cart is 5hp but i dont have a govenor and i have a custom exhaust.....i dont know why its doing that or how it could be.....any help will be appretiated...

what gears are you running, it could be your geared to high and the clutch is constantly slipping, if this continues you may glaze the clutch pads and outer shell causing it to not gip anymore.

i think the tire is about 12" and if i put a bigger spocket on that i dont have i could easily tear it up because it is so close to the ground......

yeah 60 would be still a little high 72 would be best or you could acually get a jackshaft and keep your 48. you could put 20 on input and 10 on output of jackshaft.

ah i dont have pice but it a shaft that you put 2 sprokets onto one that accepts the motor and one that goes to wheel, you use it to gear down. I need one on my mini motorcycle project, when i dig it out you guys can help me figureout where i should put one.
