Multiple gearing with #41 sprockets

I have over $300 into just the Comet gearbox & many sprockets so there is no turning back now. The 3 sprockets on the drive axle are #41 from Northern Tool.

If you take the driveline off a pedalbike and drop it into anything without modification, it will see the exact same load as it would on the bicycle so long as you pedal with the same gusto. No reason it shouldn't work in this case, but we tend to avoid bicycle chains around here because most of our stuff is powered by exploding dinosaurs.

I am very interested, however, in seeing a functional derailleur system for #41 chain, so do keep us posted!

I've been busy with fall projects, repairs on my trucks, getting rid of crap and last but not least having Lymes disease for over 25 years. It will probably be after the snow flies when I get back to it.

The problem with any chain other than bicycle chain is that there is no sideways bending capability build into it. A bicycle chain is made to be pushed/bend onto the next sprocket. Other chains are just too stiff for this to happen

I already tested that with a couple of sprockets close to each other and draping a 41 chain over then rotating. I think it will work out.
