just one thing.. with a diff you should either mount the brakedisc to the diff-housing,
or add another for the other rear wheel.
Not utterly important since you got front brakes..
but still one wheel remains free to turn, and I don't think that's the intention
The differential only allows mounting on one side for the sprocket. When the differentials where delivered one of them was damaged, I was going to return it so I figured I would try to split it in half like I heard you can do. I need to shorten one of the differentials so I figure why not split the one I am going to return. There are only 4 bolts holding it together and they are splined. It was clear to me the bolts where going to mushroom before they where going to release so I abandoned the idea of splitting it and trying to add a disk hub to the differential.
That's not exactly true; you can mount to one side using the bolt heads & mount to the other side using the lock nuts...
You may have noticed, when you fitted the sprocket, that the case didn't split; that's because one side of the case is threaded, the bolts slide through one side & thread through the other; the nuts are only there as a precaution so the bolts don't come loose...
Took another joyride with the Mini Mule today. Tested the brakes, Throttle and transmission. Going to tear it down for final welding and a lot of olive drab paint.
Had an absolute BLAST and cant wait to finish the build!
Hats off to Dowies for designing such a GREAT Vehicle !!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xqAQX1HU9I
