It looks like GPS is out of the non-hemi variant stage two kit therefore I need to piece it together. And it looks like after all I do need a 265 cam. Anyone know where I can find one?

O. M. B. Warehouse has everything in stock INCLUDING a spring and retainer

No I don't know how. I thought you younger people knew your way around the

Glad to hear. If you spend more than $150 which I think you will, they offer free shipping. That's about a $20 savings. They are faster at shipping then GPS as
well. I have done a couple of thousand dollars worth of business with each one
them and have been treated very fairly by both. If I were to pick a favorite, it would be OMB. Mostly because of the shipping.

I noticed that thing you said about the shipping. I also agree about preferences mostly. I do overall prefer GPS as I find their site to be easier to use but the shipping argument is definitely valid and depending on the item their prices are often better

Better consider saving some of your Chuckie Cheese tokens for upgraded clutch or torque converter parts and a decent chain/sprocket, too.

Agreed. Right now I’m just focusing on the engine itself but The whole point of the kart building is kind of a “no expenses spared“ build. Even if that means it takes forever since I make 50 bucks a week on a good day

What are y’all’s thoughts on ratio’d rockers. I don’t really know anything about them but I’ve heard they can give you a performance gain especially with a cam

Ratio rockers will open the valves deeper, for more fuel and air. But one must be careful....ala a high lift cam and a high ratio rocker can run the risk of ramming the valve into the piston. So it's a mathematical issue, of cam lift, plus rocker lift equals......what. and most builders will remove the head and putty the top of the cylinder, then hand turn the engine.......pull the head again, and check the putty to see how deeply the valve intrudes upon the piston. some builders will just use a thinner head Gasket to get an additional increase in compression

You also must check for coil bind with the valve springs. The keepers and retainers hitting the guide or valve stem seals.
