Who and where are the moderators?
Should these folks not be clearly posted somewhere?

Look at the bottom of the individual forums.

Jblankster, kibble, jr dragster Tyler, toystory_4wd, Kaptain Krunch, Rickracer, Blazkowiez

TS posts quite frequently.

Toystory_4wd, Jrdragstertyler, kibble, Jblankster and blaz I think.

All but one of which aren't around anymore.

I know that's not the point of this thread but some people don't know who they are.

Robs never on here either.

Edit: ah, too slow.

You got it, Devino!

I have noticed the apparent rash of spam lately. We're doing our best to deal with it, but there's a few points I'd like to make known for both the newbies and our forum veterans alike.

1)When you report a post (spam or otherwise) all the moderators get your report in the form of an email. As such, it can take some time to arrive.

2)An air-raid siren, alternated with the repeated phrase, "Spam Alert! Spam Alert!" etc, very simply doesn't happen. See point #1.

3)There are some of us users that leave our computers on 24/7, usually with a DIYGK page open, so we can check on the site whenever convenient. Therefore, when it looks like we're online, don't bet on it.

4)Spam knows no time zone. If it's 3am over here, and you just reported a fresh post advertising left-handed spoons, odds are pretty good I won't be getting there anytime soon. Conversely, at 2:00pm while I am at work, it's not gonna happen, and another mod could well be asleep in another part of the world.

5)Moderating this forum is done on a voluntary basis. It's not a "job", we don't get paid, and as much fun as it can be, it can also be a real PITA. We do what we can, when we can. We have lives outside of this, too.

Basically, it is what it is, and we do our best. We appreciate whatever patience you're willing to afford us. -Chris

I have been so busy lately on not kart stuff.. Yeah i'm not around much! :surrender:

But as mentioned, click the button to report spam and it gets taken down. If it doesn't, report it again and send me angry emails.

And thanks again to BOTH our moderators, and everyone else on the forum. You guys rock.

I'm usually on here a few times a day, and I am in the UK so it would be a different time zone.

something simple , like just a video presents for the site.
maybe a place that members could have a finished video placed, kind of like an honorary statis thats given to those that finish the build that their working on.

man that totally threw me for a loop!

Now I gotcha! In my head I was pronouncing it pre-sents, like you would have to present your license when pulled over...

Just a heads up. If you're looking for some new moderators, I'm pretty much always at my PC (Lots of programming projects and the like). I nearly always have diygk open on my browser since I like to always see what everyone is working on and check up on some of the crazy builds on here. I'm on Central American time. I'm familiar with the forum software, Trustworthy, and I like to believe I have decent judgement. Which I don't think trouble makers are very common on here anyway.

Thanks.

No offense but maybe someone that is more active on the site should be. im on here everyday and im sure many others are aswell but that dosnt make me qualified to be a moderator. I hardly have ever see you post so to me i dont think your qualified YET, however help out people and do a little more posting and you might be selected... you never know.
