mini bike keeps cutting out

about a week ago i bought a 49cc mini dirt bike well it arrived today and when i was using it for the first time we eventually got it started and when we did we had to keep the throttle on otherwise the bike would cut out does any1 know wat this means?

If it's new, return it. Don't screw around with anything that should run as advertised out of the box.
If not new, carb is leaning out. Thorough cleaning/adjust will get things back in order.

But the instructions say it is hard to start at the begining then gets easier as you go if this is the case then good but if not will it be too late to return it?

Talk to them and explain problem.
It's not the hard starting that is of concern...
It's this statement:

...we had to keep the throttle on otherwise the bike would cut out...

Bike can't be much fun to ride with this condition.

mine was doing the same thing, i just took the carby off and blew it all out, now it goes better.

Good money is paid for this stuff.
Why would you accept something that does not work as advertised?
Because you can fix something does not make it "alright", especially if it's brand new.
Most manufacturers will void a warranty if it's discovered that eqipment has been disassembled/tampered with, even if it was a legitimate repair attempt by a well meaning consumer.
Manufacturers will not get the message that they are essentially making crap if you keep on accepting crap.
