I am planning to building a mini bobber of sorts and am looking for an engine now. The guy I was buying a loncin engine through wasn't able to follow through. I liked that it was 3 speed and it had an electric start/alternator to power things off of. 125cc 8 hp sounded like a good rig. I am now going to looking for something similar. Anyone have any suggestions? A more common motor would be nice, with easily replaceable parts. I think I definitely want the transmission to be inclusive like with the motor bike engines. So I suppose I am asking what dirt/motor bike should I be looking to part out?
