Hello.. I'm Mike from Limpopo South Africa. ...

I'm into DIY builds, I haven't done anything build yet but I will because I've already bought 13hp Turner Morris engine, but it is a tapper shaft ..

What worries me about it is that the throttle is made out plastic, I'm not sure if it'll last or not..

Will Mountain bike brakes work on my go kart? I want to place an order on Banggood

Howdy &

1.) an engine with a tapered shaft is difficult to use on a go kart because most clutches & TAV units require a straight shaft with a key

2.) Bicycle brakes are not usually heavy duty enough, to use on most go karts

IMO you need an engine with a straight shaft
...& also, real go kart brakes

Bicycle brakes are a big NO! Get some hydraulic brakes off a pitbike/motorbike or quad.
