If you can wiggle the wire in the tip, they its probubly gonna splatter cause it won't be grounding properly. Also make sure your ground is close to the area your welding, and that it has a good clean connection. I would do .030 wire and have the gas at 20cfm at least. You using 25/75 gas? I agree with fabroman and I do about 3/8 or less on my stickout. Thin material is just hard to weld with machines that don't have fine tunning. I really liked the 251 millers we had in school over the 211s do to the fine tuning of power and speed.

loosen the nut on your wire spool this will help............

you may need to change your inner cannula thw wire travels thru.
