where are you located in michigan? and ive been trying to find one, but i cant find one at all
I'm in waterford.

The closest trails to us are "the mounds"(northeast of flint) they suck, used to be very fun but to small and costly now IMO.

We hual our stuff up to west branch, st. helens or rose city area's.

St. helens is fun if you like sand sand and more sand it also has a decent open ride area where you can just ride whereever.

Most people are riding ATV's and dirt bikes up there but you will see just about anything run through the trails.

They will check your stuff, they being the DNR or whoever is tasked with policing where you are but as long as you have the right stuff your good to ride.

EDIT: here is a link to michigans ORV maps online.

USFS approved exhaust, helmet and an ORV sticker ($16.25 for 1 year sticker)

They dont want people shooting sparks out of their exhaust and burning the forest down, they want people safe/unhurt helmet minimum and they want your money.

Actually you'll see your money's worth of stuff they do out on the trails and they have allowed, in some area's people to ride the shoulder of the road but its still just a test to see how people respect that priviledge.

You guys are unlucky where I live is very unpopulated. My nearest neighbour is 150m away, he owns a 400acre farm and what's more I did not even ask to ride there he asked me... He goes away for 2 months every year but his stuff is always getting stolen. So he asked me to ride there as much as I wanted.:D:D

Not to dig up an old thread or anything but I completely agree about Michigan being a beautifully twisted place.

I lived in Michigan July 97-July 98, up around Ferris State University/Big Rapids area. Was only there for one school year, but man oh man what a year...

In late March or early April, a high schooler went home on lunch break, sat himself down on the toilet, and 12gauged his head off. Exactly one week later, another student killed himself. Three weeks after the 12gauge kid, a close friend of mine shot himself in the cheek IN THE SCHOOL HALLWAY and died just as everyone was scrambling for class (8:26a.m, I'll never forget). So, three dramatic suicides in one month.

Add in the fact that my homeroom teacher (Mrs Guzikowski) was having sex with the football team, and her husband (Troy Guzikowski, if I remember right) was the assistant high school principal and we all knew he was screwing the 7th-10th grade girls. Twelve years after I left Reed City Middle School, he finally got busted for it, and is currently in prison.

And that's not even discussing how a state can have all the natural resources and technology in the world, but can't pay its own bills. Michigan, a beautifully twisted state..

Prisons are full of chesters. The problem is they only get 2 years while the pot grower gets 10 years. They need to make room to keep the money flowing.

teachers in general are messed up I had 2 math teachers and an english teacher turn out to be peds but up here people bring knives to school for tools not weapons I have also only seen a few real fights on school ground (most people take it up to a spot "reserved" for parties and fights) drugs are a bigger problem here
