Nope! Which is exactly what I was afraid of and worrying about... But, a new gasket set and carburetor mounting boot, plus a new choke cable/switch is on the way, all of which it needed anyway.
The pistons have locating pins in the grooves as you already know I am sure,these keep the rings from rotating in the bore and keep them located as so the end gaps of the rings do not line up with any of the ports and get snagged and broke,the end gaps are most all the time phased towards the intake side of the cylinder away from the exhaust port.Nope!
