Going to need some wheels and tires, too... But, rear axle is good to go. Just need swingarm, front suspension, shocks, hubs, cables/linkages, a fuel tank, replacement seat, a cage/shock mounting plates, a coat of paint, and perhaps some better pedals.

What fowler said. Get a cheap chinese utility or sport quad with a blown motor you could get like a 300-400cc chinese utility with a blown motor for $400 in ct on craigs easy.

Good news, everyone! There's a junk golf cart JUST across the street from the school! The shocks are good, the steering rack is good, wheels, tires, also good... Heck, all it's missing is the ignition and coil springs! If it's at all possible, I could even scavenge the starter motor, and quite possibly the lights, too. The wheels are 8.50 X 8, and the tires are 18" tall, with good tread on them. Any suggestions on what else to salvage if I can? And would the rack actually work for my purposes?

Oh, I WILL be taking the whole shebang if I can get my hands on it! I'm going to scavenge any and everything useful on it, then return the body, steering wheel, steering column, seat, and chassis.

Well, I can send you all four leafs if I can actally have the cart! I'll know if I can get it at around 8:00 am tomorrow (9/26)! For springs that have been out in the weather for the better part of 5 years, there's only a tiny amount of surface rust...

Simple, unbolt it from the golf kart, bolt it onto your kart & off you go...

Yes, it's a bit more complex than that but, not by much...

Actually, that one might not work so well for you. It all depends which style it is. The "bell crank" style (the only way I know how to call it) would not work. Too complicated to just throw on a kart. If your lucky, it has a manual rack and pinion. That would only take/need minor modifications to mount it. Post up pics when/if you get it... We will know right off if it's gonna be usable.

The arachnid plans also arrived today! Should be able to modify the plans a little to fit with the existing chassis and engine/tranny mount.

Also, the afforementioned friend, and fellow mountain biker, broke his arm during practice. Double compound fracture. So, sadly, he will not be able to help build the "Banshee".

Yep! That would work,with very little work. I'm kind of thinking about buying the same one for the '32.... The steering response is pretty good, I just wish it was a little cheaper. I think we could get the arc rack cheaper but with no arms. I'll check and post you a link in a second.....
