yeah I am just kind of wondering if anyone had done it, not a real consideration of mine just thinking it would be "mega-cool"

It's a DIY ECU for normal car engines. I don't know too much about them other than you can pretty much make it do whatever you want to.

Possible. You could even use a Ford EDIS module and trigger wheel for digital ignition with a timing curve.

It would be a great way to learn the Megasquirt and fuel injection without the investment in a real vehicle.

I actually have 2 megasquirt v2.2 ECU kits (sorry not for sale!) One will probably go on my big block caddy, but I'm seriously considering running megasquirt on my 13.5 hp subaru. It's a natural with a car-sized cylinder and being electric start w/ built in alternator. At 404cc a single injector from a 1.6 liter toyota will work great! I may make my throttle body from one of my old junk Quadrajet carbs, using the shaft and smaller butterfly valve out of it.

Sorry, hadn't been on this forum for a while!

I haven't gotten around to putting EFI on the big Subaru thumper but I still plan on it. I have a few more essential projects I'm working on at the moment, but hopefully I'll be able to start playing with the idea in the next few months.

I've seen the above videos before but I'm not too convinced they run that well and there's nothing to show if they even put out good power, since they've never been seen driving anything.
If I could possibly find a tiny turbo out of something like a small 900cc kubota diesel or something like that, it may just be small enough to work somewhat effectively on the 400cc scooby. Still might be too big for a 200-ish cc motor.

Very simple. I got a weed eater intake that has a rough 1/2 ID. Pressed a 4 1/2" length of coppor pipe in there. Drilled 3, 1/8" holes for air bleed's. Then a end cap on the end of the coppor intake with a butane lighter jet soldered in. I had a fuel regulater before the jet. It only took half a 1/8" hole for it to idle. Ran great.
