I think where I'm at there is a free mattress removal place. No need to pay or leave on side of road.

Probably leave near a homeless community would be better.

Last time I paid to dump it. But now we have yearly curb side pickup. I think I can leave a mattress on the street...maybe..

Oh well good luck. Do it at night and be quick about it :)

Ah yes free drop off.

Off topic:

I've tried the stupid cheap LED bulbs and they work pretty well, but after a month of being on a ceiling fan, they started flickering like crazy.
Ceiling fans are just plain hard on bulbs.

For 12 volt applications, these work great.

May have to try those. I know my dad just picked up a LED tube light fixture for the garage from Costco. He has it as a "all day" light, so it's constantly on. But its freaking bright and it seems to do better in the cold than the 4 florescent tube light fixtures. Long as that one holds up well, he may replace all the lights in the garage with it, long as it can save a few $$$ each month. He can get the bulbs at a discount from his work (lucky). Where as myself as a pleb, I don't have that luxury, except if I can find them at Wally World and my gf can use her better-than-nothing-discount.

I swear though, California seems to give me more reasons to not move there let alone even visit the place...Might as well be a foreign country for all I care. Fingers Crossed. I mean I know all tire shops have a disposal fee for tires, which if one is stolen from the area it's locked in for recycling, the company will be fined something like $10,000 per tire. But a mattress... Seriously? I guess it's only one or a few times every 5-20 years so it's not bad. Wonder if it's the same for memory foam beds or sleep number beds? Or would those be more?

Someone start a GoFundMe for him to get out of that place.

What's the lumens on those? Never seen a lightbulb that's 12 volt use the standard base. Could be nice for the fish house since that will be on DC for sure with possibly AC for a few things that would draw too much for a battery and inverter.

The tire disp fee okla charges works right when used right tires 19.5 and under is $2.50 picked up by the state at the tire shop where you buy them the tire shop can't charge more than that or they are breaking the law and can be fined. The shop has to keep records and the tires are counted by the pickup service. If you need to dispose of junk tire take them to any tire shop and ask as long as your willing to pay the fee most shop are happy to help. Tire dumping is a huge problem in Oklahoma just go to any river and check it out. I don't know about mattresses but it seems if they charge you they need to furnish a place to dump.Dump em!!!!:censored:

Our garbage collectors are less than a mile away and they charge quite a bit for that. But the main landfill charge I believe by weight and you'd throw it in the 20 cubic yard dumpster with the other furniture.

I mean what's the majority of the weight in a mattress? Spring steel, fabric and stupid wool or synthetic fiber wool for the padding. You probably could spend a few hours parting out the mattress and toss the fabric in the garbage and recycle the scrap spring steel.

I have an old king mattress in the backyard that I'm going to light on fire as soon as the burn ban is lifted and drink heavily while I watch it burn.

Update

Ok So Today she decided that she did not like the Quality of the 99 dollar Wal mart Matresses.
They were Foam Mattresses.
So she found 109 dollar Gel filled Memory Foam Mattresses at Wal Mart dot Com.
We returned yesterdays Mattresses to Wal Mart today and ordered the new one online.
Here is the kicker...
I guess it is like ordering a Hemi Head 212 or 79cc NON CALIFORNIA Models.
Because Via on line there Was NO 11 Dolar Disposal Fee!

So we got a higher Quality Mattress for 1 Dollar less.
And now I do not get to dump the Mattresses on the State Road.

Now Kart or bust about that "go fund me" To get me out of this He// Hole...

At our house downstate we'd just have to set up a special pickup and away they'd go.

We pay $50 a year for use of the transfer station near our home up north whether we use it or not, its added to our property taxes.
They have recycle bins and they take tires, metal/steel, brush, logs, leaves well most everything except construction materials we even dropped off a toilet from the house once:thumbsup:, saved me from having to find a spot for it in the yard and deciding which flowers to plant in it.

Super easy just pull in and the guys will help unload at the compactors or direct you to the right spot to unload.
