I went ahead and ordered a new spacer that added that 1/4". If that is wrong, I believe someone mentioned flat washers would be ok to use.

I'm going to clean everything up real good. Brake cleaner and graphite I guess.

Do you have a preference on garter spring color? I was thinking of just going to the original, as I don't know much about rev engagement.

Try stock springs for a baseline and to get the kart back to OEM/normal, and then you can experiment with different springs?

Anyways, glad you are getting into the guts of this CVT. As you can see it is infinitely serviceable (up to a point I suppose). Anyone here know the manufacturer? Is it a Comet or a Chinese copy?

I know people all speak their minds differently. It came off as rude but I made my comment and moved on. I don't think anyone means any harm when trying to give advice at the same time.

From the looks of it, it is Chinese. I haven't seen any brand identifiers on the cvt at all. From what I'm told, the Chinese are equivalent to the comet tav, just might need to replace the belt? If not, I'll keep if for a while and upgrade later on when I've gotten all out of the current setup that it has to offer.

It's surprising how simple this machine seems to be.

Will do. I noticed one website had "stock replacement springs" and another had a "choose your color" option. What color would the original springs be labeled as?

Perhaps post some more pics of what parts you picked up and what the shafts looked like.
We can spot issues miles away but we need your eyes.
It looks like you have all the stuff there to repair. Why needlessly spend money.

Will do! I'll get some clear photos of the PTO shaft and all the primary driver pieces laid out. Hopefully seeing the condition of the brass sleeve and sheaves will help pinpoint why it wasn't shifting properly on hills.
