Manco Deuce Predator Advice

Hey everyone, I recently picked up a manco deuce (613-02) with a 13hp Honda gx390, and I want to put a predator 670 in it. Questions:
- Will the 670 be too much power for the original transmission? Maybe 420 is better?
- Will I be able to keep reverse on the 670?
- Any other major modifications besides new engine mount on the frame?

Thank you!

I think I would diagnose the problem before swapping anything. Maybe it's not the engine. A 420 is not a big step up from a 390, and the problem might not be the engine. Try to fix what you have. You might be happy with a simple carb rebuild.
Yeah I want it to be powerful enough for two adults and still be quick.

That looks like a heavy frame. You might be expecting too much from these smaller engines. The bigger buggies are fun but theyre not very fast. You might top out at 45mph and take 10-15 seconds to get there. <-Thats more of an extreme example of a heavy kart.

You might want to try smaller tires, just an inch or two. Does the kart reach full speed?

How about some pics of the drive train.
A sprocket tooth count. Exact count. Use a marker if you need. All sprockets. This will tell us the gear ratio. It might be wrong for your set up.

I just bought a Manco deuce and it has the Tecumseh ohm120 motor and has a different carb and has issues popping out the carb and exhaust.. i want to put a predator 212 or a ghost ... or I just want to put a nice motor that runs and i want to put hydraulic brakes . We ( my wife and I ) bought it for our boys to learn to drive...

What gearbox is on the 613? Not finding much specs for it. It's possible a 670 might work. Could also look at a smaller V-twin.

Definitely looks like it needs a seal for one of the shafts, might as well drain and refill it with new gear oil. A Predator 420 would be a step up to what you have and would be a cheaper bolt on replacement with next to no modifications to do.
