Manco Black Fox LXT Tillotson Model Recommendation

I havent seen a lot of 2 seater off road go karts restored into a street look, post some pictures if you have done an off road/street build. I would like to go around 37-40mph and still have solid torque. I have not found a lot of information regarding the best Tillotson 212 models for a yard kart, is there a thread regarding these different model Tillerson's? I think I am going to get the Tilly 212r with a stage one kit.

I'd rather have a 10K RPM built Tillotson over a 420. With a built, high revving engine, you have many more options for gearing to do exactly what you want!

The absolute best would be the new Tillotson 225. It already has a bigger bore and stroke compared to the 212s, plus bigger valves. That will provide more power all over.

Although granted, they are $750:)eek:), and are limited quantity right now. Partially because they're made in China I believe, and COVID-19 is screwing with shipping.

Otherwise, it's basically: Do you want electric start? Do you want preinstalled upgrades? Because both will drive up price. Any Tillotson should be a solid engine.

I have been doing on a lot of reading on the Ducar 212 as well but haven't found a whooole lot. What would be a faster and better torqued motor with stage one upgrades if you have any knowledge over that?

Question - are you going to put a roll cage on this? If so, where would you source one or would you have to fabricate it?
