It's going to be expensive....

I bought a single seat Murray with full suspension and it has been very expensive.

As far as steering and brakes there is no bolt on upgrading. You will have to learn to weld and modify the parts.

For steering you can get a rack and pinion off Amazon that is for a go kart, but you will need to make mounts for all of the parts and possibly lengthen or shorten your tie rods.

For the brakes you should get hydraulic disc brakes. You might be able to get some on the front, but probably not without lots of fabrication

Thankfully I can weld and fabricate. I knew going into this project it was going to be pricey but the experience for my daughter will be worth it.

I have looked at the rack and pinion setups on Amazon, just not sure what folks have been having good luck with.

I appreciate the response and advice!!

All the racks are pretty much the same, and what I have heard they are pretty good too.

One thing I was looking at doing for my buggy is swapping the single a arms for dual a arm 4 wheeler suspension, I'm not sure if it would work well, but it's something I want to try sometime

I wouldn't get too involved with upgrades. The steering on these karts is poorly designed. Check for any worn bushings or tie rod ends, check for seized A-arm pivots, make sure the tire pressure is correct.

As far as the brakes, take the caliper off and apart. Clean the adjustment pin and bolt to make sure they're free. Reassemble then run the adjustment bolt up until there's slight drag on the rotor. Tighten the locknut.

Here's a 710 manual.

Every suspension bit on my kart was seized. I had to pound and cut out bolts, and cut out 3 of the 4 shocks. Do keep in mind that my kart came off the coast so the salt and moisture got to it before I did

I appreciate the parts breakdown. I plan on upping the engine size a bit so I wanted to increase braking strength and steering reliability. I feel the cage and chassis are fairly well built however the steering is mediocre at best.

Mine is definitely aged from the Arizona sun but everything came apart relatively easy.

Mikart 710. I have a Manco Intruder. From the one picture you posted it looks exactly like mine. I am running a built predator 301 with a 40 series torque converter, the stiff springs and lighter weights in the driven clutch, and where the brake rod attaches to the caliper, I extended the lever coming out of the caliper about 2&1/2" to give it more pulling leverage. Rest of the kart is bone stock. I'm pretty happy with it. The thing hauls A$$. Brakes are a little marginal,
but the kart is driven strictly in the dirt so they are O K.
