The way I understand it, the TC speed limiter has more spring pressure, requiring more torque (ie: RPM) to engage, limiting the amount of engagement; with that theory in mind, you would also think it would not engage until a higher RPM than a stock TC...

We installed the new TC today, required lifting the engine off. It engages smooth now. The old belt was worn about a 1/16", I'm hoping it was the pitted/rusted sheaves and missing pads causing the harsh engagement.

Took time to measure the chain...looks like #420. Sprockets aren't that bad, some wear, but not bad. 1/4" wide rollers, 1/2" pin spacing, 5/32" pins...it was cleaning up, but bothered me.

Took the caliper apart, I should have two brake pads pucks, I had five pieces fall out. Cleaned up the half that would come out, the bracket captures the outboard half of the caliper.

So I ordered new chain, a batch of links, some half links because I felt bad about running that rusty chain even after soaking it in ATF. I ordered two sets of brake pucks, since the first will probably get worn polishing the rusty rotor.

The Carlilse tires are dry rotted, which wouldn't be bad but it's all in one spot so it caused all four to get a lump now after being aired up. So I ordered four new Kenda Scorpion 290 tires from Summit Racing. I'm hoping the ATV tires will make the ride better over the lawn tractor tires...

By the time I get done buying parts, I could have bought a new one!

I still need to hook up a remote kill switch on the steering wheel and add a throttle return spring to the engine. I tried to rob a spring off the old Robin but they were pretty rusty, I'm hoping my dad or grandfather have one in their stash that will work.

From pics, it looks like you need new shocks or do a rust job on them, 4-5.00$ harbor freight knotted wire wheel. Predator is the way to go. If you really need a return spring, you can either salvage one or head to your local hardware store, I'm sure they'll have it. Good luck!
