So I picked up a running gokart for 300 dollars. It was even delivered for free! So far I have hooked up a ghetto brake system and tightened the chain. The muffler recently de-threaded so I have no pipe now. But here she is!

Is that like the BlueTerror from Harbor Freight? If, so you should scoot with it. A kart like that is begging for one of Russ' Duraforce motors! Something that'll wind out tight!

so now I'm stuck between a blue clone

and a 7.5hp chainsaw 100cc.. will i needa jackshaft if i do that?

7.5HP Chainsaw? That would be awesome! What kind of output is on the engine?

if you're talking about using an old chainsaw engine, don't you have to fabricate your own clutch?

already done. its brazed which people seem to say it wont hold.. but my friend did the same thing with his chainsaw which was a 70cc and it held up fine on a kart

the chainsaw is a husqvarna 2100cd rebuilt with 20 mins on it

the sprocket is 18 tooth if i remember right

I'm hopefully going to overhaul it this summer. Maybe a new coat of paint, engine, etc.

100cc chanisaw engine! GO Magice! Have you ever watched those 100cc class gokart races? Hauling butt, they are. With the gearing in that kart, you should be fine. I t my bog a bit at the very beginning, but from like 10mph up, that thing will scoot like no one's business! I believe we're going to have a top-speed champ, here!

Not really. Most all racing karts have the engine placed there.
