if you want the job done correct, new valves and seats! or at least have the seats cut, then lapp the old valves in, but you are correct a cheap fix would be to just lap them in, mostly beacuse not to many people have seat cutter kit at home.

Any performance parts for a 5hp? I'd also grab a set of gaskets if you had a good set. I might just run by the parts store for the gaskets.

Performance parts I'm looking for include rod, flywheel, crank, magneto, and cam.

Also, what's the price on a built/drilled carb?
