I tried to start the fire with this Lawn-Boy thing...so far, no one has completed anything with the horizontal scenario.
I have seen attempts at friction drive...to hooking them up to faulty drive lines...
One guy said outright that he would have his engines mounted and running "before the snow melts".
I'm still waiting...:toetap05:
I would like to compare notes...

Hey Russ, life happens. These are frigging toys. Not exactly #1 priority in most peoples' households.

By the way, you don't need an engineering degree to put a couple of lawnmower engines on a friggen go kart. So don't think you've accomplished some big feat.

Russ, just as a heads up there is a company in the USA that has vert shaft engines as the powerbase as their kart engines. They're kit karts but we've had about 6 of them in for repair on various things in the past 3 years. It is nothing out of the ordinary to mount a vertical engine on a go-kart.

Russ stop thinking your lawnboy is a Rotax. Seriously, you actually have a piece of crap. Move on, you've been beat. Like holy fack, grow up and junk the lawnmobile. As we develop better methods for getting more power to the ground, you do the stupid way out and add another lawn boy. BTW, my 7hp minibike, with a polar junior dragster clutch, will do just as much speed, and accelerate as hard, as your go kart, with 17 hp. Forgot to mention she's a stock motor too. Don't try and brainwash us just because you're about 900 years old than us.

I gotta stand behind russ on this one, you kenny, sound like a complete fool. You are comparing a MINIBIKE, to a gokart that weighs probably 3 times as much. Not to mention daddy paid for your engine and clutch anyway...It is nothing to go out and buy all the stuff you need to go fast, building it yourself out of something not meant for a go kart, while having major performance is a real accomplishment. I don't see anyone else taking the initiative to successfully convert and put into action dual lawnboy engines.....Don't knock russ unless you have built something comparable....

How different is a masport iron horse to a lawnboy? they look really similar under the skin...

Learn constructive criticism rather than direct insults kenny, that way you can get your ideas accross without upsetting the apple cart.

These masport iron horses are really common over here, was thinking of making a stacker, 1 on top of 1 with a 25mm space between them, using car cam belt idler pulleys and a cam belt to a cvt.

Had two, then someone decided they looked better in the tip.

Cheers, Cam.

Wow, Russ was a bit critical of everyone and defensive of his feat which was very much misplaced because we all all people who have created fun machines and have no reason to think one of ours is better than another. Seriously though, he may be a bit older than some of us, but this is no reason to try to proverbially pwn him based solely on his age and what he has built.

Basically here is the lowdown, Russ... you need to be nicer to the kids here, when you were 20 (or younger) would you have wanted someone to be that brisk with you?

Kenny, If I have one single point to make here, keep your insult into one post. Dude, I can see where you're coming from but flame him once efficiently not three times poorly.
