Determing the proper chamber dimensions and size is the easy part (and it is certainly not easy), but actually making a chamber per those dimensions is beyond anyone but the expert. Everything needs to be calculated by the interior, and not the exteroir. Second, any missteps might make the chamber less efficient than not having anything at all.

I consider the expansion chamber the only really difficult part of a 2 stroke. A well engineered Chamber can almost double the HP of the engine, but you must comprimise power with torque in specific RPM ranges, since a chamber is tuned for a specifc resinance.

Sorry Tyler! I was just being my typical Annoying self with that jab.
I'm predicting that Russ with no chambers and the present gearing will easily hit those motor's "Soft-Rev Limiter" I was referring to earlier in this thread.
As far as expansion chambers go, maybe a couple of old dirtbikes of similar cc should be hunted down as donors? I really think Russ won't need them though. He has more than enough power to get a simple kart to hual _ss down the street.

Rolling, measuring, and tacking sheet metal isnt hard. Here is calc. http://www.kreidler-verein.de/reso.html

Going to have to work on my German....

Talking with a few of the 2 Stroke racing people, they state that stingers (the final exhuast stage in the pipe) were from older designs that were not as effecient/effective. Looking at the commerically available racing pipes, I typically do not see that component on the pipes anymore.

Welding up a straight pipe would definitely be easier, but would take up quite a bit of space. wrapping the pipe around the engine is the tricky part.

Knowing Junior is a good welder is very helpful.
