Update: Found a rear end, perfect for a beginning. I should be able to pick it up Saturday, along with the missle body.

Comes with some 16in x 5in wide original wheels, one original baby moon hubcap... We'll see how it all goes.

It's a start.

Next up, a front drop axle... notch the body out for the axles to fit/sit there... and it can actually roll around (well, I'll be able to move it around easily in my driveway.

Then it's on to more cutting & prep... LOL

Had to get the daughter's braces off today finally, so sitting in the office.. I like to sketch.

if you tilt the 'rocket' slightly forwards.. so that the diff sits just below the shell,
and you end up with more of a straight upper contour...

Kelly, that thing is gonna be sweet! We have a Bonneville car as well. 21' lakester powered by a Ford flatty. The car actually holds a record in the XF class last i checked. The PO had a turboe'd flathead in it. Ours is injected and runs on Alky. Quite a bit of fun if i do say so myself.

Update: Gonna try to get the "bomb" and the rear axle this weekend. The plan is to get it here, cut off any excess... notch out a place for the rear axle and set the tube on the axle.

Then, we'll rig up a front swivel steely wheel to move it around.

Nothing like a little yard work.

In all, 13 4in cutoff wheels, a whole lotta effort... and thanks to my friend the Tree in my yard... it's almost a roller.

I started to cringe when I thought the body was also 1/4 in steel, but it turned out to be less than that...

Anyway... some steel wool soap pads later to give it a little bath... and She's taking on a little personality I think.

6 hours later... and I'm very tired.

but because it's the best I can imagine means it's somewhere in the lower third of what Kelly is capable of.

So yes, I like it,
but I expect nothing less than the next "benchmark in style and appeal"
for similar vehicles.
