:wai: Ditto on the warm weather. High here today -1, low tonite -15 Tues. high 5 low -3 and with 12" of snow on the ground. But things are looking up, after Wed. back to the 30's. then we have to worry about it flooding. Being retired I do not have to go anywhere so, I play like a bear and hibernate for a couple of days.

Sheeesh. It was nearly 40 degrees C here yesterday, and Saterday I got fried while sitting on the beach

Sigh... I want warmer weather back.

:iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree:

You and me both brother; I tried to get my car down to the end of my driveway so I might have a chance of getting to work in the morning; Didn't happen.

Three hours later, after a 3/4 of a mile hike two ways, down to my dad's to get the loader tractor and return it, the car is still sitting in the middle of the driveway; while I was using the "Power Shovel" we weren't getting snowflakes. Sub millimeter size sleet pellets.

Here's the irony; I'm actually hoping that it gets as cold as they predict. That way, all the little ice ball bearings that made my afternoon :censored: will start to freeze solid; when frozen that hard, it starts to resemble sand paper, which means I can get out....

:censored: It took two and a half hours of shoveling and getting a tow to break the frozen rear brakes loose, but the car is now parked about 8' off the road at the end of my driveway... The peanut gallery at work is going to a royal pain it the A&& tomorrow.

I really wish that was an option....

Do you realize just how many of us in the continental US and Canada feel when you start prattling on about that? For one of the politest response's you're likely to get, read below...

But it's SUMMER there.

Do you think he's doing intentionally?

You know Texans are known for their southern hospitality. .....

It was 16° last night- if I had to put up with that more than a few days a year I'd probably brush up on my Spanish.....

When I think about what the folks up north go through. ....if I had to endure the same thing- I'd be a bigger pr•••k than the worst New Yorker. .....wait a minute, I guess I'm going to have to find another excuse for being the way I am...

Ok then, moving along.

Ahem...

Having established I (and others) would like warmer weather (minus one of course) we'll continue.

Update:

This time of year always gets my mind going because with Xmas & the whole holidaze... out of the way, I start thinking of the coming year & what to do.

Of the 2 projects in the house I have planned, one of them just had to remind me as I left the bathroom this morning... but in a good way.

My house was built in 1956. It's kind of old, a one level place with hardwood floors everywhere... and the bathroom is what needs reworking.

I wonder... the fan cover is the original, looks like a mercedes emblem a bit... and it's metal.

LOL

It's funny... the places we find things are often places we just don't look. In this case, up.

Thanks for looking.

Soon enough, I gotta figure out how to make these two into one piece, then add another third piece, (possibly part of a metal garbage can...) then a 4th to it... then mount it.

Update:

With the bathroom now vented 50% more...

(can anyone see this whole thread just crashing into a dumpster soon?)

... and a new vent in place

I cleaned up this old relic and hit it (LOL) with some flat black (oh?)

Crap, this whole subject is loaded.

Just look.

Here. I used the old white ring to see what it'd look like before I painted the NOS one.

Usually I'm a fan of your farting around, Kelly, but this idea really stinks!:stir: LOL!

I think the headlight ring makes a really clever cowling and the fan gaurd compliments nicely.

LOL, thanks!

Moving on:

Odd update (because of Kart Racing Rules here)

Our local track (Larry Miller Motorsports Park) has FINALLY.... FINALLY changed and now is going to use the LO206 for the 4 Strokers which opens up lots of doors.

(this also frees up 3 Honda GX200's for me & the Kart Rods)

Cool

Update:

Roaming around my house... what to do, what to do. I'm just itching to do something. Still too cold outside so we're making a plan.

Did anyone ever see any of the alien flicks? In particular, resurrection? (It also happens in the first AVP movie too) I love the alien movies and always have.

In one scene, in order for the species to survive, one is killed by the others in order to get out & continue on.

Well, that's what I did tonight. I've been known as a killer of karts by some and tonight I killed one... for the good of the others.

Goodbye old fun kart... which was my make-believe vintage ride... need your parts.

The Baroness needs a rear end, seat hoop and a place for 2 Motors. So that's what we've done here. The steering hoop will be its sleek seat back...

then...

I sat on the floor for a time trying to figure out this front piece and how to attach it just right but it just wasn't coming to me. It's tight up front and with where the pedals mount, (er, pedal) putting anything there isn't right.

It's just me, trust me.

If I put it up in front of the steering as I've done with others, I get that old "you've done this" feeling and I just sit there, locked in thought.

Then it came to me. It's different, let's make it just that... different. A side mounted weird thing. Yes.

So... the right side will have this weirdo engine piece thingy and the drivers side will have the room for me... and maybe the machine gun... with a sight... or the sight on the engine shroud thingy... This way, I can build over on the right as I like and make it look even better. yup.

Also, it was a 2 seater so it's wider and longer than the others. It's wheelbase is 56" and the width is 40"

This allows for 2 engines and enough room between them for the red baron fin... I think.

I dunno yet, we'll figure it out.

More on it soon, I'm not sold just yet on what to do here.

Stay tuned.

And of course, this freed up the other stuff I'd originally taken from this... The Bonneville Legend.

I figure I should get her running soon too... cause she looks killer.

Nope- not working for me. Too far off-center. I'd cut the front bar and lose the up "V" in it and place it closer to center. I do like the idea of it being off-centered, but not that much- looks like the thrust would make it go in circles.JMHO-

I don't know how to say it Kelly,
but I'm with Doug I think.

I might change my mind as soon as I get used to it, but at first glance it's counter intuitive (reads: odd)

Propelling the kart, sure;
propelling the driver, okay;
propelling all but the driver, you lost me there :surrender:

But your karts a convincing enough to proove that you're great at what what you're doing
so if your instincts say "it belongs there" then go for it... I'd bet it'll work out somehow (just not yet) ;)

I can't see it yet with the side mount dealie, but I'm sure you'll make us all believers if you continue.

My question, unrelated to a specific kart, is this.... how do you find so much time to do this?

With a full time job, kids, a house, and a woman that requires lots of my attention... I barely get time to do my do.

That Bonneville kart looks freakin' sweet, by the way.
