Yeah, every year, I go with our rookies to some of their classes and traing. Specifically on brush fires, we talk about Australias fires and there is always new raw video . Your firefighters train for it, but it takes a toll on even the strongest of men. They face some of the MOST intense brush fires I've ever studied. Next time you see one, thank him. Thank him for me.... I KNOW what they deal with day to day , its not as glamorous like on TV. They are doing one HELLUVA job......

It looks killer to me. I didn't realise there was so much rust on the kricket :D

Thanks.... Yep, the kricket been out in the elements for a couple years.... Gonna take it all apart once complete, to blast it thn paint.....
And it dont take long for fresh welds to start rusting around here..... :mad2:

Humidity will do that :lolgoku: may want to hit it with rustguard before paint...

...&, before that (just a tip), get yourself some phosphoric acid based metal conditioner; it removed surface rust like magic

Well, made and welded the nose piece mounts. I welded a nut inside some 3/8" square tube, then cut to fit snug inside the 1" tube, then welded it in place. Ill weld up the end of the tube tomorrow. Only thing left is cables for brakes, fuel line, kill switch hooked up, and some fuel ..... gonna try and crank it up tomorrow as well, time permitting.....
After loading pics, I realize I still need to put the new tubes in the tires....

Just my 2 cents worth here but, I'd have positioned the front mount level with the bumper, providing a smooth transition from the bumper to the nose piece...

Still, clever work...

That was the original plan but I needed to make sure there was room for the feet to be upright in a comfy position. Kinda hard to take measurements when they aren't around...... :ack2: Still concerned getting in n out might be impeded....
On a side note, i made the mounts for the rear fenders, but cracked one trying to unbolt it from the old frame.... mounts are now on hold till I can get another fender......:censored:

Well, I got a great 1 minute video of it running, then I hop on and take its first ride, with NO brakes. I only get it to ALMOST half throttle , and you can see that its got some umph to it. We estimate I got to about 15mph , off video, out in the open again at half throttle. Brakes are next. Video after work.....
