Figured Id show off what I have been up to.

After I ran the 20hp briggs twin for awhile, the frame was bent and sagging. For The third time I cut the kart in half and rebuilt.

I did away with the torque converter and running a predator again.

It has a gx160 head with thin steel gasket and a marine grind cam.
Predator block, crank , rod, piston and carb.

I am using gx160 aluminum push rods, with 196cc clone studs and rockers, with 20lbs springs. With 93 octane and some booster it runs strong, pulls very hard and fades out around 5k.

With a 6 to 1 gear ratio it spins off the line and has tons of wheel spinning torque , scary fast in a smaller track. I put 13in x 5 tires on 6in wide rims with tubes.

Drift machine , rocket around the yard

I was too cheap to get a top plate so I hacked it.

I had a kx250 rear master cylinder and caliper, Ordered $7 brake pads and a $20 disk for the 1in axle. I used a modified Hurst shifter for a muncie 4 speed to make a drift stick.

Not bad for $28 I think.

Anyway it is the best version of the kart so far and I cant wait to get the e-brake working!

I finally will have something with brakes!

Enjoy!

Just the weight! And massive kart breaking torque.

I am saving it for a future project, something that can fit a 40 series tc.

Here is the finished brake!

Locks up the rear with ease.

I sacrificed a few wrenchs to mount it but all good.

And If you dont have a power bleeder, a syringe with a piece of hose works great! At least for this stuff.

I got some pfm to install. I am afraid to take it apart.

And I got a new top plate installed, as license plates are not heat or vibration resistant.

I give this carb a thumbs up.

I have the non epa adjustable jet version, so It was very easy to get running on the kart. No Messing around with different jet sizes.

It completely removed flat spots it the rev range. It pulls 100% whenever you hit the gas.

I had a hesitation right before hitting max rpm, now it pulls until the motor cannot do any more.

It made the kart alot more fun. Easier to drift and get the tires spinning.

I will buy one or two more.
