Got the flywheel key today but didnt get it on yet, briggs and stratton sent me 2 keys for 3 bucks plus 8 dollar shipping, turns out they send those 3 keys about the size of a thumbtack in an 8"x 8"x 4" box... Anyways i dont have the right size socket at the moment but next week ill try and get it together.

I also got yelled at by the neighbors for ripping up the "shared field" behind my house...i got to the point where you can tell the exact path i ride haha, like 5 corners where there is no grass left from drifting and whatnot.

Today i started on the front end, with a little help from Theo i think i know what i need to do for the camber, castor, and KPI. All i did so far was cut the KPI angles in the main beam, and start to cut the flat stock for the spindle brackets, but im out of hacksaw blades so i cant do anything else until tomorrow.

I got both the angles almost perfectly the same by cutting the whole axle/beam in half, clamping them together and grinding them, then i welded it back up.

Not too bad for a hacksaw

There was no distributing block... This whole electrical system was held together with aligator clips and tape.

well my guess is that the black and red wire are + and -. you would connect them to whatever you need.

I was out there again today and noticed my old head unit and door speakers sitting off to the side (they used to be hooked up with a computer power supply). Then i got to thinking and decided why not hook it up to my mower? it would be BAD ***, and i dont see any downsides to it, the head unit wont draw much power, and it wont be hard to wire it in. Anyone seen this before? any thoughts on it?

SHES ALIVE. I got the flywheel all tightened up, wire everything except the charging wire (have no idea which one it is), and went to start it. Well it turns out when my dad put on the starter gear it was upside down so the second time i tried to start it the gear snapped in half. Anyways $6 later it started right up, its running ok, just a bit rough.

EDIT: i figured out which ones the charging wire (i feel like a dumbass), one wire had a diode, which i just noticed, so that one is the charging wire.

So anyways, i have it all wired, pretty much needs a new belt and rear pulley, finished front end, and a paintjob. Then i can do all the little things that arent needed but are cool to have (analog clock, stereo system, lights, bumpers, maybe even a winch). Next weekend i'll be going to pick up another mower for parts, my friends got 2 that i can choose from for $10 a piece. Once i get there i'll decide, there both 12hp, one he got from his uncle and hasnt messed with, and is in better condition, the other he broke the front axle and left it all winter without an oil plug and no oil. The one in better condition is a White, the other is a Wheel horse, im not sure what i'll take but i think i'll decide once i see what kind of transaxles each have.

Well i went to get that mower today. Both were in good shape, the White had the exact same engine as my murry, and was virtually the same mower, but the wheel horse was much better built, and had a lot of nice features (hour meter, charge gauge, electric PTO, shifter on the column, and it looked nice too). It also looked like the Wheel horse had a peerless 820, but once i took the wheels off i noticed it had a 3/4 shaft, so no 820 turns out to be a 920. The shift keys and drum thing was rusted, but i took it apart and did about half the cleaning, and everything looks good except for first gear, its missing one tooth, but overall not bad. Also the front axle was broken off, he said it wasnt steering right so he gave it a hit with the sledgehammer  and it snapped right off, it was cast any ways so no worries on that. The seat is actually good, which is a first for any of my offroad mowers, or grass cutters. Its a wheelhorse 212-6, with a kawasaki 12hp. Not sure if it runs, but the engine looks nice and has good compression and whatnot, but it was sitting all winter without a oil drain plug so it may have a little rust inside.

I like the hood on this one better, and will most likely just make 2 offroaders, but build this one up first so that i have something to ride around on while i build the more difficult project.

Tires are the exact same as my murray, i have yet to see if they hold air.

I think thats the low oil shutoff? not sure.

This engine is much bulkier than my briggs 11.5

Thats where the axle snapped right off, it looked so strong, but i guess its just not.

Broken tooth on first gear of the secondary shaft.

I really like the shifter on the column, its got a cool feel.

all the cool little warning lights, most likely going to all be disconnected though.

Its got over 980 hours on it, seems like a lot for a mower to me, or maybe Hank Hill owned it.

:ack2:

I just went out a reset the hour meter (a lot of work for such a little thing), anyways when i took it off, i noticed that it wasnt connected to anything, so its got 983 hours + however many hours it was ridden after it was disconnected.
