for your first one, (and since you already bought it) keep it, and run it hard for a while. You can always upgrade later.

Ya I decided to keep it, I have been looking at boxstockproject.com for all the parts and i could make some pretty good power out of this thing with the right upgrades, and cheap also.

Thank you to everyone for your opinons, I greatly appreciate them as this is my first time ever doing something like this.

That should work fine, a lot of us run 5 - 8 hp industrial engines and they work perfectly. Speed and torque all depends on gearing.

Could you give us the:
- # of teeth on clutch
- # of teeth on axle sprocket
- size of rear tire.

Glad you got your first chopper,

I am waiting on my new BSP 6.5hp motor to come in and i will let you know; however, I did check on my tire sizes over the weekend.

Front Tire: 90/90-12
Back tire: 130/60-10

I think the brand of the tires are "Zhongya Industry". I could be wrong on that, but thats what it looks like my pic says.

I think he made the right choice when it comes to a engine theres plenty of room to improve it, and he can put gears on it if he wants to. One thing i MUST say these things are dangerous, there so small and easy to get cocky on. And one with a lot of power makes it so much easier to mess up on because it is low to the ground and your on two wheels. I've had a number of bikes and a couple of trips to the hospital because of one but i just had to put out a little disclaimer before you go getting this thing up to 50 mph.

Sorry just wanted to save maybe a little bit of pain for you. :)

Haha thanks.

***UPDATE***

I got my engine in, and have decided to sell it, lol. I figured I am just going to port and polish my current engine and call it a day. I looked at my current engine, its a QIYE 124cm^3....It runs fine, just sputters. I am just going to adjust the valves, fuel, rewire electical, tune the carb,, dremel the restrictor plate in fuelt bowl off, etc. It would be way less costly and would run brand new again after I take it completely apart and clean everything up. Even though the engine can not be upgraded, 40mph is fast enough for me on that thing. I dont need to overkill and hurt myself like Pocketrocket mentioned. I appreciate everyones posts and I took everythign into consideration. If anyone wants a Box Stock 6.5 clone motor, I have one for sale for the same price I bought mine, $125. Also, if anyone knows a great website to get mini chopper parts like, seats, rear fenders, gas tanks, let me know. Thanks everyone and I greatly appreciate all of the help. I will post pics later!

Also

Also, I have been looking at Lifan motors. I currently have a 125cc QIYE motor. I was looking at buying a new Lifan 125cc but saw that they have a 140cc motor. Is there a big enough difference between the 2 to spend more money and get the 140cc? How much of a top speed difference would it make?
