So I got 3 manco dingos over the weekend . One has a 10 hp Tecumseh with electric start. One has a 9 hp Briggs with electric start. The last one has a 5 hp Briggs . All need some sort of work done to them . Anyone know where I can buy a manco style jackshaft plate?? Or should I just use what BMI sells. Using 5/8 jackshaft . BMI sells 3/4 bearings . Dingo 1 picture.

Dingo 2

He's probably in Australia...I hear dingos just wander in around there...But...don't hold your breath...I've found if people haven't bothered to fill out a profile location when they've been around that long they usually don't....

Ok dingo 1 is up and running .just needed a throttle cable and a new belt . Also had to remove a motor plate that was stacked between the motor and jackshaft plate . Repositioned the motor on jackshaft plate and drilled new holes . This dingo has a Tecumseh 10 hp but came with a comet 30 series kinda strange . Does anyone know the purpose of the plastic fan that bolts to the end of the driven. The pic is off of another kart I found on Craigslist.

That's a cooling fan. Keeps air circulating but works best in conjunction with the TAV shroud. Kinda handy little doo-dad as heat is the enemy.

They have centrifugal clutch fans too--I've only seen them in parts diagrams though and mainly or only on Mancos.

Im guessing there was a cover like a snow machine... to keep the clutches cool, otherwise contained within the cover and no air movement....

Haha... double post at the same time...

That's what I thought . I wonder how long that belt is gonna last on that TC with it being a 30 series. Or is that what came on it new.

Just got back from shop did all the welding on dingo 3 . Floor pan , roll bar ,and seat mount . Picked up a new predator 212 for it and ordered a new tav2. Still missing the back roll bar . The one I have was cut and the bottoms are missing. Gonna have to make something. Don't have a pipe bender.

I also did a mechanical disc brake conversion on dingo 3 . Gonna make my own brake rod out of 1/4 " round steel .

That is not a bad idea--making your own brake rod, especially since complete Manco rods are probably gone from the parts suppliers by now. I've got one that's rusted pretty badly--just never thought of making my own. THANKS.

I know some kart makers use braided cable for brakes but there's no beating the feel of a solid rod...

I have a good brake rod just don't want to cut it. The home made ones work great as long as it is a straight shot .
