If I have A torque converter (when its in the low ratio of 3:1) and a 3:1 ratio from the jackshaft to the axle, am I getting a 6:1 ratio? Or do you multiply and get a 9:1 ratio?

I believe it would be 9:1 because the engine would rotate 3 times to make the jackshaft rotate once. The axle requires 2 more rotations from the jackshaft after that to rotate 1 time. So the engine needs to make 9 revolutions before the axle rotates once.

Correct. Each gear is multiplied by the next.

For example, in a Jeep take 1st gear in the transmission
3:1
Low range in the transfercase
2.5:1
and the axle gear ratio
3:1
and multiply 3x2.5x3 is the final drive ratio. (22.5:1)

so your kart would be 9:1.
