just a few questions about batteries

hey just one or two questions

1st are these good batteries to get for a 48v motor with a 400 amp controller ( http://www.batteryclerk.com/product...battery.html?gclid=CMbwh82quLACFQjf4Aodygwc6Q )

2nd if i bought 4 of these how long of a ride time would i get out of these batteries ( http://www.batteryclerk.com/product...battery.html?gclid=CMbwh82quLACFQjf4Aodygwc6Q ) with a 400 amp controller or would i need to buy more than 4 and hook them up in series or parallel

How many amps is your motor.
The lower the ah rating on the battery the shorter the runtine. Those are 8ah so you will get very very little time out of them.

You means watts. He probably doesnt know the amp draw. Might do though haha.

You also want to look at battery weight. You cant just say smaller is less runtime. Logically it should be but in reality it isnt, if you have a heap of weight on board from massive batteries then your motor will end up drawing more current when accelerating and may not give what you expected. In saying that, 8aH is pretty small, if your motor is 1000w you should expect less than half an hour run time. Probably more like 20mins and not at full power the whole time
