The back wheels are wheelbarrow wheels (8" rims/16" diameter) and the front is a 26" bike wheel. The ratio is 10/45.

The clutch is a MaxTorque ($30), although my favorites are the Comet clutches. I still have the governor on it, (3600 rpm) so it does 38mph. It definetly has more stink than that, so I'm going to change the oil to synthetic and try a top-speed run soon. (The old speed record on this thing was 51mph) The engine barely has 2 hours on it.

Well- did the Un-Governed speed run and hit 47.7mph one way and 49.2mph the other way! (A little under 4700rpm...) Here's the link to the video, shot with the governor "on". I need a better cameraman,,, and a better camera... and a faster kart!

That new seat is comfy! That's a HipTip... find old, well-built dining room or office chairs, butcher the legs off and weld em on. MIGHTY comfortable!
I'm also starting to give Old Faithful (The blue stand-up 3-wheeler) a good mulling over. I have a little Lifan engine just sitting around and....
Also...! I think I finally found a good candidate for the B/S 2 stroke... my bicycle. The 5hp rattled the poor thing, but that 2 stroke was smooooooooth power....... Just more grist for the Assburger Mill, I guess.
On a different note....
We're going to do another Kartfest here pretty quick. Maybe we ALL should start a thread in the Photo/Gallery section, of people just having fun on these things?...

Okay.... Here's the basis for my next Evil Idea.... I FINALLY won my own snowmobile engine on Ebay, and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. Here are the Ebay pix:

...and that's all I know. I at least found a replacement belt for the fan, and I bought a secondary clutch wheel that will fit a 3/4" jackshaft. Until I get this thing into my greasy mitts, I'm not too sure what to do with it. I'm thinking on revising/modifying the Lowrider v2.0 to make this work.

I hope you bought a secondary that is for that engine/primary, the clutches are tuned for eachother and usually if not dialed in right you will have a very bad bogg(from experience).
Does she run?
Im guessing it has points.They can sometimes be a PITA lol at least they were with my Kawasaki 340 in my golf cart.And the older carbs(looks like a tilly or a walbro?) can cause alot of trouble they are known to be a pain to adjust correctly.But that thing would really kick butt in your lowrider, id mount on some 26'' tires lol.The engine will probly run around 7000 which would make that lowrider fly.Also read the plugs quite a bit to make sure it isnt running lean/rich in warmer weather the sled engines can burn down very easily if not adjusted right.

COOL! Thanks for any input! I'll be picking everybody's brains for info on this thing when I get it. The funny part is, while all the other engines were getting sucked up right and left, this one sat there with a "make offer" bidding system, so after losing my FOURTH single cylinder motor to someone else with deeper pockets, I made an offer on this one. I really didn't want a twin, but beggars can't be too picky. I'm going to end up fogging the cylinders/crankcase with WD40 and keeping it somewhere safe until I can figure out what to do with it.

It's alive! IT'S ALLLLIIIIVE! HAH hahahahahahaha!
Brief update: Threw some plugs from my B/S engines in, mixed some gas/oil at like, 10/1 *cough! Gag!* and got it to run!
I couldn't stand the suspense anymore and HAD to hear it run! I'm going to need to figure that carb out. The clutch moves in and out like it should, so that's a good thing, and dang- it's pretty easy to start, even with just the emergency pulley!

Sounds really good. I highly/strongly recommend Honda oil. See attached.
Good thinking on heavy first mix. Keep in mind that oil decreases octane substantially.
I use the Honda stuff in all my 2 cycles at 32:1. Even the ones (50 years old) that call for 11:1 ratio or 3/4 pint oil to a gallon of gasoline. These 'oldies' actually have increased compression (as Honda advertises) as a direct result. More compression = More horsepower.
I've included an oil mix ratio chart here as well.
Carb should be a snap regardless of manufacturer unless it's been replaced with an emissions unit.
Appears to be a Tillotson HRxxx common on Harley's. Rebuild kits are readily available if needed. Model number should be stamped into carb flange. Being it is a pumper, fuel tank can be located below centerline of carb body. Makes life easier sometimes, especially in cramped quarters.
