Ok so ive been thinking for awhile now what do with a jeep i bought from my gfs parents. It has the stock 2.8 v6 in it and ive read they are crap. Engine doesnt run anyways. Siezed at the moment while undergoing head gasket change. So i read a 1990~1995 3.4 v6 from a camaro is better and a bolt in replacement. Im having problems finding the 3.4 tho.

I was also thinking about converting to electric but that wouldnt really work. Cost would outway benefits. Sure in the long run it would save alot of money but i need something now.

What are your guys thoughts and suggestions on this subject?

just out a inline 6 or v8 you cant have best of both worlds with power plus good gas mileage so something has to give plus a 3.4 would be under powered to

jeeps in general seem pretty light. im sure a 100hp 4 cylinder would power it fine, a 150hp straight 6 would get it moving pretty good. v8 jeep sounds overkill to me unless its a fairly small motor

i think we need an approximate amount of money that you would like to spend on the swap. most times it is cheapest to just stick another engine that is the same in there. now if you have money to burn i think sticking a LS series engine in there would be a great idea.

yeah my mom had it whats wrong with it she wants a new body stile one but i think they look like a boat even with the 5 speed it sucked at speed it was very under powered the factory v8 cars they made the same year were only like a 305 i think and they were still under powered i wanted her to keep it and i would have put a 350 or 454 in it but she sold it for some retated reason

i have no clue where 1 sentence ends and another begins. that is why they invented ................ if you were to hand in a project at school like that the teacher would most likely fail you. there are 2 ........ keys on a keyboard so there is no excuse why you can not use them.

Are you kidding? You can't PAY to fail a kid anymore. Wouldn't want to give little Johnny a complex... Rather off-topic, but a sad reality.

BACK ON TOPIC... if anything else tarnishes the glory of this Jeep thread I will be vengeful.

OP: Have you considered a 350 drop? They do make engine mount kits. The 350 is a greatly utilized engine with so many aftermarket parts at such low prices its a powerful choice.

This thread needs dozens of pictures and more info.

Fixed for you...

Why is that so hard to read? I can read it just fine.

Wolfie pretty much summed it up:

The internet isn't the place to ignore grammar and spelling rules. The rules are there so you can get your point across without giving everyone else headaches.

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming...
