personally I wouldn't rely on PVC for a RC Kart...

Yes I know last years PVC Kart and I remember that it was cheated a bit ..
still awesome... but to add rigidity he cheated a bit ;)

So I'd use steel tubeing for a project like this..
and if you don't want to or are unable to weld the tubes..
use connectors... there are nice railing connectors ou there.. they should take 1" tubing and with a few setscrews (and through bolts) they should provide enough strength for an unmanned vehicle of your desired size.
something like this
Also: it'll look cooler than PVC :D

No honestly.. as soon as you find someone willing and able to weld it up, you can remove the connectors and weld everything up just as it should be :D

You need to get the thinest walling 1 inch tube you can and use these 'key clamp' brackets. There designed for express handrails but you only need an Allen key (6mm).

Just for fun i may even build a pvc r/c about 3 feet long with a weedwacker motor just to see how it works. 3/4 pvc pipe elbows tees and misc fittings and good to go.

Or.....Duct tape. .... (now I'm just being silly and mean...).....but it always worked for Red Green. ......

Thinking the servks are going to be the most expensuve parts
I might have to give this a shot
Do some reasearch on prices when I get home

Got a spare 35cc wipper snipper motor and a whole pile of pvc pope abd fittings left over from my retic fit

I obviously can weld and have a welder so it wont be a true complete pvc chassis
