I think it's what lets the gass pass, sort of like a ball valve. I'll try and fins a picture.

That little peice circled in an abundance of colours. When I start it would be in that position.

Well that's not my engine, I just found it on google images. I'll run to my grage to snap a few pics real quick, but it's freezing outside. Pictures should be up in 20mins.

Pictures are here. Sorry about the crap quality but it was really cold and I just wanted to get back inside, haha. I hope these pictures are okay...

It came with that pull start but I put it on my other bike to see if that one would start.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by pop. It's just a little rough to pull, pretty much the same as when it did work.

No, but when it was new it did. I think it did a few days ago when I tried to get it running, but it took too many pulls untill I noticed a difference in the sound.

It doesn't run at all anymore, that's the problem. It slowly started taking many pulls to get going and now it won't start at all.

How would I go about checking that. I think I read somewhere to spray it with WD-40 and see if it bubbles? If I found a leak would I just need some new gaskets?

Tyler is probably right but could be some other stuff also.
Gaskets will have to be visually checked along with engine seals.
Check that carb mounting bolts/screws are snug.
Check for fuel flow at carb. Check vent tube for clog.
