I bought a “stage 1 kit” , new air flow, exhaust, jets, and 18lb springs. So after installing them I read on here in several threads that it wasn’t a good idea without other mods, but it was confusing. If i don’t have the other mods should I put the stock springs back in?

Do you have a governor delete? Or do you plan on upgrading the cam? If the answer to both of those questions is no, then yes you should put the stock springs back in. If the answer is yes to either of those, then leave the 18lb ones in.
If you have removed the governor, then yes you will need a billet rod with the 18lb springs. The stock rods aren't made for the high revs that will be produced with the governor gone and springs upgraded
I apologize if I’m posting twice again but I didn’t see my post pop up so I figured I’d try again. I made “stage 1 “ modifications (air, exhaust, jet and 18 lb springs. But I’ve read here in a few threads that I shouldn’t upgrade the springs unless I have made other mods. So my question is should I put the stock springs back in? Will it hurt it if I don’t?
