Well the 1999 fighting back. apparently we got the same transmission and put it in, but the new one has a an OSS (output shaft speed sensor) and the old one had a VSS(vehical speed sensor) And well it doesnt like that at all. its way over reading speed and shifts terribly. likely cause the PCM(power-train control module) doesnt understand the OSS signal.

So We thought about getting another PCM with the same setup we got now. sensors and all. Got one out of a 2000 Taurus and one out of a 2001. both have the same setups.

Well they're apparently to different to even function. wont even fire the car up.

Has to do with coding i assume. not sure if i can get a 99' pcm that will work that sensor.

anybody?

Well turns out no matter what pcm i get it has to be flashed to the VIN.no guarantee i can make it work. or i rebuild my old trans.

Man i hate modern vehicles.
