Some verticals use a mechanism that's connected to the cam as the dipper. You'd have to again, modify it.

Only thing I'd be really worried about is the carburetor (should be quite easy) and oil supply. And then the mounts.

the horsontle is for the drive pulley

do you think that the horsontle shaft on it has the hole 5hp or just a fraction of the power?

its most likely geared down. so it will have more power and less rpm. which is good.

@ oscary- you can just leave that cam powered slinger alone. it doesnt get in the way or anything.

yeah my friends lawn mower has that shaft too but it only spins at about 100 RPM at the most. And the shaft is pretty thin and its not ment to be torque on, It's just ment to push a lawn mower.

Or, you can remove it. The dipper was made to be surrounded by oil all times. When converted to horizontal... you'll most likely have to get a dipper.

That little gear is made for those auto walk mechanisms.

hitting a liquid at high speeds is equal to hitting a solid surface. = no good for the rod and the rest of the engine

true. you HAVE to get a dipper. i left mine in so i can run the engine vertical or horizontal

Maybe if you get the motor, you can also yank the rear transaxle off of it. A lot of times, by switching the drive ratio between the motor and transaxle, you can increase the top speed. That way you could use the motor.
